The Malawi Seattle Association is inviting members and supporters from all countries to come and enjoy a potluck this coming Saturday May 30th. Come and Enjoy Malawian food like Nsima and Chambo.
The potluck will take place Saturday, May 30th, 2015 starting at1:00 PM at LAKE SAMMAMISH STATE PARK, 2000 NW SAMMAMISH RD, ISSAQUAH, WA 98027.
Participants are asked to bring the following Nsima, Marinated meat or chicken for bbq, prepared fish for bbq, stewed beef or chicken, hamburgers/hot dogs/buns & condiments, steamed or fried rice, mandazi, samosa, cooked beans, green salad & dressing, potato or pasta salad.
The Malawi Seattle Association (MSA) is a business-registered non-political organization based in the greater Seattle area. The organization was founded on Sunday, November 8th, 2009.
Purpose/Mission statement:
The Malawi Seattle Association (MSA) is an organization of Malawians, whether by birth or by heart, residing in the Pacific Northwest. The MSA is focused on cultivating deeper bonds within our community, supporting members and their families during times of difficulty and strife, fostering opportunities for social gatherings, and experiencing the essence of “the Warm Heart of Africa” right here in America. The MSA calls for a need to continuously unite and join together with a purpose of empowering the Malawi community through MSA goals and objectives.
Goals and Objectives:
The MSA goals and objectives are focused to promote, advance and protect non-political social and emergency welfare and to encourage and support recreation, social and cultural opportunities.
- To inspire the community to embrace diversity and inclusion i.e. having an association representation that mirrors the community in the NW including valuing and utilizing diversity of thought.
- To maintain fundamentals to the MSA success based upon how well the MSA members treat themselves and how well they treat others, as well as how the MSA utilizes the talent it has to its fullest potential.
