BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The country’ populous entertainment outfit, Fifteen Sports Bar and Lounge will on Thursday, Independence Day celebrate in style with cultural heritage shows.
Dubbed as “Malawian Heritage”, the Blantyre trendy club will lead July 6 celebration with unrivalled family entertainment.
Some of the activities to curtain rise the day including Gule wamkulu, Beni, clothing stalls, food stalls, and cocktails stands and big firework display.
In an interview with The Maravi Post on Tuesday, Fifteen Sports Bar and Lounge’s Co-owner, James Makunje Jnr observed that the country’s Independence Day is the best opportunity for critical reflection.
Makunje Jnr said that 6 July is the right to look into the country’s independence journey of 53 years and make a collective decision on what is required to reach the Promised Land.
He added that the choice of the theme “Proudly Malawi Day” is befitting considering that families rarely have the opportunity to celebrate together.
“The most important thing is to celebrate our heritage. Once we accept who we are, the next step is to move forward and achieve our dreams. We should surely utilise the independence that we enjoy to make the country’s future bright.
“Malawi is a communal society which makes it possible to interact and share food and drinks. We know that not everyone would manage to go to their home district, that’s the reason we want to create an atmosphere that will give the patrons that feeling of being proudly Malawian,” urges Makunje.
Fifteen Sports Bar and Lounge’s popularity keeps growing since its official opening which was graced by South Africa’s Zahara in August 2016
