MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) First Lady, Tadala Chihana said she want to adopt any child who lost his patents due to cyclone Freddy.
Her decision followed report that there are some children in camps where cyclone Freddy victims are seeking refugee.
According to her, she want to give the concerned child a new and normal life.
“As a mother, such news are killing my day especially when I start thinking of how the child stays in the camp without parents. Over staying in the camp can traumatize such child if she see his or her fellows enjoying parental care,” she worried.
The AFORD President’s wife has therefore asked the authority or anyone with the information to link up with her.
“I have been trying to trace one but I am yet to identify. I know that the authorities are busy hunting for the missing people as well as serving the rescued ones in the camps. But I believe that they will help me once the news reaches them,” she added.
She disclosed that her loving husband, Enoch Chihana already agreed and pledged a full support.
In a separate interview, the AFORD President, Chihana who visited the affected families over the weekend confirmed the development.
Authorities are yet to issue a comment.
