BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Tonse alliance partner in June 23, 2020 presidential electuons, Alliance For Democracy (AFORD) has launched Victory Queens, a grouping of women from business sector and various professionals.
The launch for southern region chapter look place in Blantyre on Friday, November 20, 2020.
Speaking at the event Tadala Chihana, a wife to party’s leader who was a guest of honor said that AFORD victory Queens is an arm of the party’s women’s league consist of independent women from various sectors of life.
Chihana further said that the sole aim of the grouping is engage in charity works and also to fundraising for the party.
She also expressed profound sadness due to the rising case of rape and defilement in the country.
Calling for stiff sentences for offenders to deter others from committing the same.
In her remarks Secretary general for the party Grace Tchupa pointed out that the party is in rebuilding process to make AFORD a party to reckon with once again.
She cited the joining of some high profile politicians as sign that the party is heading into right direction.
