BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Renowned gospel hip hop musicians KBG whose real name is Kelvin Gumbi and Khetwayo Sibale have embarked on a school tour called “Back Pack Tour” to evangelize the message of God to the students.
In an interview, KBG said the tour is to reach out to the youths in schools on the message of salvation, to save souls and also to be connected to their fans.
“We recognize that multitudes of our fans base are in colleges and secondary schools and we want to reach out to them, where they are”, KBG said.
Gumbi added that “Back Pack Tour” means a believer carrying Gods word all the time, so the idea is to encourage young people to carry Gods word everywhere they go like a back pack so that they can live in good ways.
“Psalms 119; 9 says how can a young man keeps his ways pure? By living according to the word of God”, he quoted.
He further said in the first phase of the tour, they are planning to visit colleges and secondary schools in Lilongwe, Blantyre, Zomba and Mangochi.
Gumbi added that apart from salvation message they are also going to share entrepreneurship skills and other stories both in academics and also business as a way of encouraging the youths.
“We share these tips because we know the struggle out there, because a lot of youths have potential but lack of jobs affects them in so many ways and we believe it is possible to create business and survive”. he said
The first tour will be held on February 1, 2020 at Bunda College in Lilongwe and the event will attract different artists and poets.
