LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The growing numbers of children without proper care is overwhelmingly increasing at global level as well as Malawi as a country.
There are about 153 million orphans worldwide and each day, an estimated 5,700 more children become orphans. Children are often abandoned due to war, natural disaster, poverty, disease, stigma, and medical needs.
HIV/AlDS has been the most recent cause of deaths globally leading to ever increasing number of children left as orphans.
As we walk down the cities, we’re mostly likely to observe a number of street children who move from one place to the other looking for help.
Have you ever sit down and think of where those kids sleep during the night? Perhaps that a question to be answered by each individual.
Each passing day we hear of an organization established to help these kids but each passing day we equally see these kids increasing in numbers.
One might tend to wonder if these organizations are established to help these kids or they are built under selfish foundations to help those who establishes these organization.
One remarkable organization that has stepped in to benefit these kids is Nthambi Early Child development Centre .
This organization was registered under the Trustees Incorporation act Cap 5:03 of the Laws of Malawi.
It was established with the aim of complementing government of Malawi towards attainment of sustainable socio-economic development.

Nthambi is located in central part of Malawi, Lilongwe, Likuni. The organisation was established to ensure effective design and implementation of tailor made, culturally sensitive, participatory social care and support initiatives while maintaining acceptable standards of environmental management in light of the climate change challenges.
The Nthambi aims at reaching not less than 200 children in the communities in central part of Malawi.
The centre has put in place strategies to involve in other development patterns, the government and other Non Governmental Organizations that can support projects directed towards resettlement of children so as to ensure sustainability of all the Orphanage home programmes.
To ensure transparency and that the project truly benefits the targeted group, Nthambi ensures that external funders of the project have establish their own mechanism to evaluate the performance of project activities and progress.
Despite having the vision to reach out to children who are in need, the organizations recognizes that there’s a huge gap in terms of funds that needs to be filled.
It has therefore embarked on a look out for funders who can share the same vision with them.
The Nthambi wishes to establish a home for orphans that is estimated to cost about US$80, 000. This money will include home for boys and another home for girls to be built in Lilongwe.
The blocks will help to reduce the number of children who are homeless.
These children who are most vulnerable to abuse, child labor and several other evils of the world require support more than from government to grow into better citizens.
Recognizing that access basic needs is a human right, Nthambi will ensure that it provides the much needed support to these children and the community as a whole.
As a nation, the responsibility to raise the hope in these kids lies in the hands of each individual.
Nthambi Orphanage has realised that every year without education is a lost year and hence the need to hold hands and make it possible for these children to go to school and receive the proper care they need like every other child.
