BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Master KG and Diamond are loading into Malawi as the Sand Music Festival is set to host the two end October.

Whilst the festival is returning to stage for the 10th edition Diamond is making a second appearance.

The journey that started at Zitherepano Holiday Resort in Mangochi 10 years ago has moved on and will this year be hosted in the lakeshore district of Salima.

Sand Music Fest has earned itself a place on the ladder of festivals in the country.

The festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and is expected to take place at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima from October 30th to November 1st 2020

In an interview with one of the organisers’ Musician Lucius Banda observes that there has been a long journey with ups and downs.

“It has been a journey where we have proved the world that we are here to stay. We have made mistakes and we have learned from them and we keep helping the country in tourism,” he said.

Banda said with the COVID-19 pandemic they have failed to plan their 10th anniversary to be big.

“Being our 10th anniversary, we planned to invite some artists who have performed at the festival over the years but Corona has affected everything,” Lucius said.

The organiser further said with little resources, the grouping has tried as much as possible to invite two international artists, Master KG from South Africa and Diamond from Tanzania.

“As I have indicated, we have proved that we are a festival worth attending, we are thankful for the support that people have given,” added soldier.

He said the grouping is happy that in celebrating their 10th anniversary has managed to bring one of the artists, who has graced their stage in the previous editions.

“Its a difficult year where we will do things carefully to observe the measures put up by the government and we will try to give people the much needed entertainment,” said Banda.

Meanwhile, Lucius and his Zembani Band returns to the stage.
