PARIS-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Women’s football great Tabitha Chawinga has been named 2023/24 D1Arkema Player of the Season in her debut season in France.
The Paris Saint Germain striker has beaten her team mate Grace Geroyo and Lindsey Horan of Olympic Lyonnais for the top award.
She is also set to win the golden boot award in the league as she has netted 18 goals for PSG. Last week, she also named Player of the Month for March.
Tabitha also the won the similar award in her debut season in Italy while playing for Inter Milan Women last season where she scored 23 goals in 21 matches. Then, she won the golden boot award.
Malawi striker Tabitha Chawinga and Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria have been named the best player and best goalkeeper respectively in the French women’s league.
Chawinga wasted no time in making an impact upon her arrival in France after joining Paris Saint-Germain from Inter Milan in less than one year.
The Malawi captain joined PSG in the summer of 2023 and has quickly showcased her talent, resulting in the top award on Monday night.
She played 25 matches, scoring 18 goals and providing 10 assists while donning the iconic red and blue jersey.
