Police in Mangochi have arrested a 32 year old man for allegedly being found in possession of a firearm without licence.
Mangochi Police Publicist Roderick Maida confirmed of the arrest in an interview with a Zodiak and identified the suspect as Saidi Abdul.
According to Maida, the suspect wanted to use the gun in shooting his wife and the Man who married her while he was away in South Africa for two years in search for greener pasture.
“Abdul arrived in the country on November this year only to realize that his wife is married to another man. The news angered him and he threatened the two when he met them that he will shoot them”, said Maida.
Police at Chiponde Trading Centre were tipped that Abdul possesses a gun which he intended to use in shooting his ex and her new lover boy.
The development prompted Police officer at Mangochi to start hunting for Abdul and arrested him.
Abdul was found with a revolver and 4 bullets, Hopefully a tragedy has been prevented.
