LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-ManipalHospitals says it is currently looking for collaboration with either the public health sector or private to amalgamate in health care services delivery in the country.
The call was made by ManipalHospitals Associate vice president International health care services Vikas Thayer during Wellness confluence 2023 in Lil on great aimed at recognizing international patients served at ManipalHospitals in India.
Tayer added that the patient summit was held as a special occasion from the facility, expressing deep appreciation and honor to patients who successfully undergone surgery at ManipalHospitals and are now leading normal lives.
“As pioneers in health care, we have hosted this prestigious Wellness confluence 2023 here in Malawi as one way of having interface interaction with our clients undergone through various surgeries at our facility so that we celebrate together as well as at the same time appreciate their feedback from medical treatment we rendered in different ailments.
“These medical treatments include areas such as Oncology, spine surgery, orthopedics, transplant and cardiac surgery,” narrates Vikas Tayer.
“I should also add that ManipalHospitals would like to venture into entrepreneurship agreement in health care services delivery with well established services provider either from public sector or private so that ManipalHospitals services are locally accessible making affordable to low income clients,” the vice president articulated.
In her remarks, one of ManipalHospitals patient representative Kitty Chinguwo Phiri who was accompanied by her husband Frank Phiri expressed joy following the aftermath of her eye successful surgery at the facility in India and confirmed recovery from sight problems.
“I and my husband, we are thankful to the entire personel that carried out operation on my eye and emerged a success. I applaud for the treatment rendered to me and I can say am able to see. I should encourage my fellow malawians not to hastate to medical attention at ManipalHospitals should they fall sick.
“Our trip to India , we left on 9th July 2022 and arrived in India the following day. My surgery was delayed due to my diabetic problems but authorities there advised us not to bother over cost of over staying and the entire trip costed us over MK10million,” Kitty outlined.
On his part, Journalists Union of Malawi President Emmanuel Chibwana praised ManipalHospitals for holding such an event, saying, the gesture reflects the value of accessing treatment at the facility.
Chibwana then appealed established health care providers to engage ManipalHospitals so that Malawians access medical care locally helping low income families.
ManipalHospitals offers comprehensive care in over 65 specialties including cutting – edge- transplant and minimally invasive robot – assisted surgery.
The facility has been in existence for over 70 years in health care and over 45 million lives have been helped.
The hospital follows a holistic patient centric approach apart from treatment, they provide patient counseling, rehabilitation and physiotherapy.
