
BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Mia family in collaboration with Malawi Congress Party (MCP) have on Tuesday donated a total of 400 food packs to Covid 19 frontline staff at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre.
Deputy Minister of Lands Abida Mia, who is wife the late Muhammed Sidik Mia made the donation on behalf of the family.
The food donation was also extended to all guardians of Covid 19 patients at the hospital.
On behalf of the party and the Mia family, MCP Campaign Director and Presidential Advisor on Chiefs, Moses Kumkuyu told the media that the donation was done in fulfillment of the promise made by the late MCP Vice President Muhammed Sidik Mia.
“This is what the late Sidik Mia would have wanted to do if he was still alive,” explained Kumkuyu.
“The late Mia wanted Covid 19 frontline workers to feel motivated and cared for,” he added.

In her pledge, Abida Mia has promised to keep on feeding Covid-19 frontline workers.
She donated the food packs through an initiative called “Feed the Frontline Health Workers Fund”.
