The body of a missing 9-year-old girl who was reported missing on Tuesday was discovered in wrapped plastic bag in her bed room in Eden Park, South Africa.

Gauteng Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters confirmed the news on Thursday November, 12.

Reports revealed that the nine-year-old was last seen around 7am on Tuesday when her mother sent her to a nearby tuckshop but was reported missing later in the afternoon around 2pm at Eden Park SAPS.

Investigations led to the questioning of 16-year old assistant at the tuckshop that the child was sent to who provided sketchy answers about the whereabouts of the missing child.

According to TimesLIVE report, the teenager’s body was later found with stab wounds to the upper body, wrapped in plastic in her room. Consequently police arrested the 36-year old tuckshop owner together with the 16-year old assistant at the tuckshop and 27-year-old wife of the tuckshop owner.

The tuckshop owner was also found in possession of a fraudulent RSA identity document and the three have been charged with kidnapping, murder, and contravention of the Immigration Act.

Police have subsequently urged the community members to report a missing person immediately and refrain from mob justice on suspected perpetrators of crime.
