MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Moyale’s Lloyd Njaliwa’s 31st minute goal on Saturday,was enough to unpack the struggling Mzuzu Warriors outfit at Mzuzu stadium.
Although the game failed to produce that derby enthusiasm which used to be there when the two teams meet but for Moyale assistance coach Prichard Mwansa the two points collected meant a lot to them.
“We always find it tough when facing Warriors,l just thank my boys we have made it since what we needed is three points at the end of it all,” said Mwansa.
Adding that the blending of old and new blood in their squad has brought back the lost glory in their team no wonder they are unbeaten in four games played so far.
His counterpart, Gilbert Chirwa said his boys gave a lot of room for Moyale players to maneuver more especially in the first half hence the defeat.
“We lost a lot of balls in the midfield which made them to dominate in the first half and got punished in the process,although my boys came in the game but it didn’t materialise,” said Chirwa.
A loss for Warriors puts them at a very awkward position as they are still stack on the bottom of the log table having played 12 games and collected 8 points.
While the Kaning’ina soldiers climbs to position 9 with 18 points remaining with only 2 games to wind up the first round of the league.
Crispin Fukizi of Moyale Barracks was voted man of the match and went away with an old mutual miniature.
ln other games played on Saturday, Nyasa Big Bullets dislodged Civil sporting Club on second position following their 2-1 victory at Kamuzu stadium while Kamuzu Barracks beat Chitipa 1-0 at Nankhaka.
