MPs abandoning community members due to wards demarcation

LILONGWE(MaraviPost) Malawi congress Party(MCP)Central Regional Governor, Ebron Chilondola has warned members of Parliament to stop abandoning their community members following the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) ward demacation.

Chilondola made these remarks on Saturday in Dowa after a Development rally for Abel Kayembe in Dowa West constituency.

Chilondola said all the community members deserve equal rights until 2025 as they all voted for the members that are in office now.

“It is sad that some members are shunning away their responsibilities claiming to own one ward of their whole constituency, wards found members running the whole constituency and it has to be like that till 2025,” said Chilondola

In his remarks, Member of Parliament for Dowa West ,Abel Kayembe said he has managed to bring development to both Dowa west  and Ndolera ward.

He said the community will now enjoy maximum security as he managed to bring in a police unit and a library to sharpen the knowledge of community members.

The police Unit has been officially opened by Minister of Homeland security Zikhale Ng’oma.

The rally was spiced up by 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Madalitso Kazombo and other six members of Parliament.
