Nankhumwa pledges unity, jobs, accountability

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-People’s Development Party (PDP) presidential candidate Kondwani Nankhumwa says his 2025 campaign focuses on unity, economic transformation and restoring trust in leadership.

In an interview with The Maravi Post, Nankhumwa said Malawians want leaders who listen, serve and deliver real results.

“We are prioritizing what affects people daily food prices, jobs, healthcare, clean water, and corruption,” he said

The PDP plans to introduce a Youth Empowerment Fund, boost agricultural value chains, and increase local government funding for community-led development.

Nankhumwa also promised tough action on corruption, starting with politicians.

He added that the party is tailoring its message to different groups jobs and tech for youth, empowerment for women, fair prices for farmers and better infrastructure for urban areas.

Nankhumwa emphasized grassroots mobilization and pledged regular progress updates if elected.

“No empty promises. Hope comes from honesty and action We listen first then act. This campaign belongs to every community,” he added.

PDP is positioning itself as a credible and people-focused alternative in the upcoming elections.

Kondwani Nankhumwa is among several political figures currently selling their manifesto to Malawians ahead of the crucial 16 September general elections.
