Beneficiaries of the Social Cash Transfer Programme in Neno District have welcomed the newly introduced e-payment system, citing its security and ease of access to financial support.

The programme, which provides a safety net for vulnerable families, has switched to an electronic payment system, allowing beneficiaries to access their funds more conveniently.

Rose Zuze, a recipient from Chiomba 2 village, expressed satisfaction with the new system, saying the availability of KAKU PAY agents within local markets has significantly improved her experience.

“I can now access my funds easily and manage my spending better,” Zuze said.

According to Amos Chandilanga, Neno District Council Social Cash Transfer Programme Officer, this is the first time the district is implementing e-payment for the programme.

Chandilanga said the system is running smoothly and is expected to enhance the programme’s effectiveness.

“Our goal is to provide a safety net for the most vulnerable families, and we’re urging beneficiaries to invest the money wisely,” Chandilanga said.

Rhex Ndapasowa, Business Development Officer for KAKU-PAY in the district, noted that previous challenges, such as forgotten passwords, have been resolved.

Ndapasowa also highlighted that increased agent coverage in trading centres is making it easier for beneficiaries to access their funds closer to home.

The e-payment system is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Social Cash Transfer Programme in Neno District. Beneficiaries are optimistic that the new system will help them manage their finances better and improve their livelihoods.

The programme’s success is a testament to the district’s commitment to providing support to its most vulnerable citizens.

As the programme continues to evolve, it is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of many families in Neno District.
