BORNO-(MaraviPost)-Following reports on the presence of some of rebellious criminal group in Northeast, troops of 26 Task Force Brigade embarked on a Clearance Patrol to Dalu Village within the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State and rescued 80-year-old man, 3 women, 4 children from Bolo Haram.
Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Colonel Aminu Iliyasu confirmed the reports soon after the troops established contact with the aggressive terrorists and effectively subdued them with their superior firepower during a fierce firefight.
According to the Media Coordinator said victims have been quickly evacuated and children among them have been given Polio Vaccine by a Nigerian Army medical team. No causality has been reported on the troops so far. He, however stated that some Boko Haram members have fled in disarray towards the summit of Mandara Mountains with gunshot wounds.
As quoted by Wowplus net, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai reassure the general public that they will execute their constitutional mandate professionally and continue rescuing Nigerian from the hands of the criminals.
“He also thanks all well-meaning Nigerians for their continued support, goodwill and understanding towards officers and men of the Nigerian Army as they sustain the conduct of various operations and routine exercises nationwide”, he said.
