Peter Mutharika Entertains 30 traditional leaders in the Northern Region

Yesterday, President Peter Mutharika met and entertained about 30 traditional leaders from the Northern Region.

During the meeting, the chiefs expressed satisfaction with his government’s commitment towards opening up the Northern Region for various developments.

 

The Chiefs and leaders were happy that most projects such as the Mombera University in Mzimba, the Mzimba-Eswazine-Kafukule Road and the Jenda-Edingeni, Ezondweni-Njakwa Spur, upgrading of the Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay Road, construction of the Nyika and Chikangawa-Nkhata Bay roads have already taken shape while others to kick-off in January.

The President also consulted with the Chiefs and leaders on how best the region can continue to develop.

The President told the chiefs that for Malawi to achieve meaningful developments, we must join hands regardless of our political affiliation, tribe, religion and colour. Let us build this country together, if they are some disagreements, then let us come together and discuss for the good of our country.

Malawi Presidents are known to use Chiefs to further their political goals.
