Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has announced it is migrating its satellite services from NSS7 to Astra4A.
According to an internal communiqué, the public broadcaster will soon be migrating from NSS7 satellite at orbital location 340 degrees East or 20 degrees West to Astra4A satellite located at 4.8 degrees East.
The satellite relocation is expected to occur before the end of the week.
MBC Head of Projects Thoko Kamasa says the development means television viewers will be required to re-point receive satellite dishes and change decoder parameters in order to access MBC programmes on the new satellite.
The public broadcaster says it will therefore be announcing the satellite parameters and dish re-pointing procedure.
