Opposition parties in Malawi led by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of former ‘man of God’ Lazarous Chakwera are plotting to overthrow the legitimately elected government of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, we can confidently reveal.
The plot to overthrow the one and half-year Mutharika administration have received full endorsements from the American Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer who is now fully financing and hosting these clandestine activities.
In December 2015, at least 3 meetings were held at the American Ambassador’s low density residence of Area 10 in Lilongwe where the plot was concretized to remove the democratically elected government of Malawi.
Among other resolutions made in December at the American Ambassador’s residence were to have Lazarous Chakwera travel to the USA on a fully sponsored trip.
As we speak, both the MCP leader Lazarous Chakwera and American Ambassador Virginia Palmer have been touring various states and soliciting more funding from Americans for various activities that they believe would eventually lead to the government ouster.
Whilst in the USA, Palmer and Chakwera also held a joint meeting with former President Joyce Banda who has been hiding overseas for a year and half now, as she fears possible prosecution following her alleged involvement in cashgate that led to massive plunder of public resources, causing untold misery to Malawians.
Our source who has attended 7 out of the 8 meetings held so far at the American Ambassador’s residence in Lilongwe says the MCP leader, Chakwera has received full backing from Ms Palmer hence the two travelling together to the United States of America.
THE PLOT
According to our source privy to these sinister gatherings, the teams have June, 2016 as the deadline to have President Peter Mutharika overthrown and a temporary government led by Chakwera ushered in.
The source says, the main activities for the planned overthrow will openly start on the 18th of February when the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) meets in Blantyre, where delegates are expected to discuss three main issues of gay and lesbian marriages, the country’s economic situation and the unavailability of maize stocks in the country.
These according to our source are just triggers aimed at justifying the already drafted demands and ultimatum, as the main output of the meeting will be an issuance of an ultimatum to President Peter Mutharika to address their concerns or resign.
The team plans to give President Peter Mutharika a strict dateline.
SOURCE OF THE PLOT
Our impeccable source has disclosed that the plan to first have a PAC meeting as a springboard to the overthrow of the government was hatched by the influential religious clerk, Reverend Dr Felix Chingota of the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP).
The senior CCAP official then shared his thoughts with media analyst Bayana Chunga who later discussed the issue with the American Ambassador.
After being convinced by Chunga, the American Ambassador called for the first meeting at the end of November 2015 at her residence where the ball was set rolling. Those that have been attending these treasonous gatherings at the American Ambassador’s residence include; Felix Chingota, Bayana Chunga, Lazarous Chakwera, Robert Phiri, Dr Nungu, Prof. Freddie Msiska, Dr Binnah Shaba and Ms Violet Nyirenda among others.
Nungu who owns a consultancy firm in Lilongwe has since been tasked to come up with themes that would end up in inciting public outrage during the PAC meeting in Blantyre.
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT INTERESTS
According to our source, the American government through its Malawi envoy is making three key demands to the proponents of the overthrow, for them to fully support the plot to oust President Peter Mutharika, and these are:
1) That Malawi legalizes gay and lesbian marriages once the government is changed;
2) That no southerner should be allowed to become President of Malawi at least for the next 20 years after the overthrow; and
3) That the incoming government undertakes to protect from prosecution and freely allow back into the country former President Joyce Banda.
THE PLOT THICKENS
Meanwhile, as part of the preparations to the overthrow of the government, the initial PAC internal meeting in Blantyre, tasked its Executive Director, Robert Phiri, to travel to the northern region where he met a group of people that are spearheading the interest to remove the Malawi government by force.
The meeting held in Mzuzu on Thursday was attended by among others, Dan Msowoya, Harris Kanyeremuka, Prof Freddie Msiska, Dr Binnah Shaba, Ms. Violet Nyirenda and Ipiana Nthakomwa. During the meeting, it was also resolved that the Northern Region team brings to Blantyre violent youths who will cause havoc after the meeting.
The same violent team is expected to set alight the northern region through inciting people after the meeting.
BRITISH CONTRIBUTION TO THE GOVERNMENT OVERTHROW
Meanwhile the outgoing British High Commissioner to Malawi Michael Nevin has expressed disappointment to members of the civil society in the country saying they have not been active enough to remove the Mutharika government.
Addressing some members of the CSOs in Lilongwe last week, Nevin emphasized his readiness to support activities of CSO leaders that are brave enough to remove the government of President Mutharika, our source confirmed. Nevin is said to have expressed disappointment over the CSOs going into slumber when in his own opinion it was easy to remove President Mutharika from power using violent means.
The meeting that Michael Nevin addressed in Lilongwe was attended by John Kapito, Benedicto Kondowe, Macdonald Sembereka, Billy Mayaya, Gift Trapence and Timothy Mtambo.
CONSEQUENCIES OF REMOVING GOVERNMENT BY FORCE
Since 1964 when Malawi attained independence, the country has never experienced war and chances are high that following this unveiled plot to violently overthrow the government, it may lead into a possibility of a civil war.in the country.
