LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) has launched a new electronic memo system designed to improve internal communication and streamline operational processes.
The system, developed in-house by PPDA’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team, was officially introduced to staff on June 30, 2025 during a training session held at the institution’s headquarters.
Speaking at the launch, Director General Dr. Edington Chilapondwa described the e-Memo system as “a bold step toward the digitalization of public service and a sign of our commitment to technological transformation.”
The training session introduced staff to the system’s core features, including user management, memo initiation, endorsement by the Director General, approval processes, and departmental routing.
A key highlight is a new module for handling external correspondence, which will allow all official letters to be managed electronically.
PPDA officials say the system is expected to significantly reduce delays and minimize reliance on paper-based processes, in line with broader government efforts to modernize public administration.
The implementation of the e-Memo platform follows a growing push across Malawi’s public sector to embrace digital tools that improve service delivery, transparency, and accountability.
