Prophet Bushiri says students bursary scheme is pure charity, not political

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is emphasizing the need for the public to appreciate the just launched student bursary scheme that is meant to uplift vulnerable learners to attain quality education for better future.

Prophet Bushiri told the news conference on Monday, March 7, 2022 that the bursary scheme has nothing to do with political ambitions but pure charity for needy learners.

Prophet Bushiri for uplifting vulnerable student education

The man of God hinted the need for Malawians to help the needy students while helping Malawi government agenda for quality education promotion.

“This is pure charity and an appeal to able Malawians to help the needy learners in all circles of life. There is a common norm that when one is into charity is associated to political coronations.

“If able individuals sponsor one learner in both secondary schools and colleges, Malawi could be a better nation for educated citizens,” says Prophet Bushiri.

The man of God therefore assured the nation that the bursary’s beneficiaries will go through vigorous process that only eligible ones get the funds.

“This will be revolving scheme that when a student graduates is asked to help another vulnerable learner. We don’t expect bursary beneficiaries to pay back the money after studies completion but help another one,” appeals Bushiri.

The scheme targets 5000 underprivileged Malawian students in secondary and universities both private and public institutions in the country.

Its free scheme but beneficiaries are encouraged, once they start working, to replicate the favour to other less privileged students.
