LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has instructed his lawyers in the United Kingdom to commence legal proceedings against Peter Sambo for making false and defamatory statements about him on social media.
The matter will proceed before the High Court in London, where Sambo may face damages of up to £50,000 for harm caused to Bushiri and his family.
Bushiri’s legal team is also pursuing all lawful remedies available under UK law, emphasizing that matters of personal conduct are taken seriously within the UK legal framework.
The UK authorities will be formally engaged in accordance with the law, and Sambo’s immigration status and professional environment will be considered.
Bushiri has also instructed his legal team in Malawi to take action against Robert Chisambiro and his associates for continued defamatory publications.
Chisambiro and his associates are already on court bail and will be required to substantiate their claims in court.
Bushiri warns those hiding behind anonymous or fake accounts that they will be identified and held accountable under the law.
He emphasizes that his actions are not driven by emotion, but by a desire to protect his reputation and defend himself.
Bushiri’s statement comes amidst ongoing legal battles, including an extradition case with South Africa, where he faces charges of fraud and money laundering.
