Nikki Glaser’s Most Savage Pop Culture Jokes: Golden Globes and More

No one goes there quite like Nikki Glaser.

While the comedian made major headlines in May 2024 for her epic set at The Roast of Tom Brady, which streamed live on Netflix, it certainly wasn’t the first time she came for some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Glaser was also a force at Comedy Central roasts for Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin. She’s since given insight into how she prepares for the big events, revealing she practices her jokes at stand-up sets for weeks leading up to the taping.

Glaser took the same approach for the Golden Globes Awards, which she hosted for the first time in January 2025.

“I have I think nine shows between now and Sunday, because I want to keep testing out jokes and I want to keep getting the monologue in the [most] perfect place it can be,” Glaser told The Hollywood Reporter days before the ceremony. “Not every host does that. I’m lucky enough to be a comedian who can go and find these rehearsal spaces in front of a live audience, and I trust my audience members to not leak jokes or tell anyone. And we have enough jokes that even if they do, I’ll be OK.”

Why Nikki Glaser Cut Joke About Tom Brady Making Out With His Son From Roast

From Brady to Cybill Shepherd to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, keep reading for some of Glaser’s most savage jokes over the years:

Jewel

“Jewel is here, so as I call her, Trailer Swift. Jewel, I do not want to badmouth you since God already did. … Your teeth are like the Spice Girls, they’re all different colors and doing their own things.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Peyton Manning

“I love you in commercials. I’d say you’re the greatest of all time. You’re like the Tom Brady of commercials. Like, the greatest.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Rob Lowe

“Rob defies age … restrictions. God, I had such a crush on you when I was a little girl. If only I had known that’s when I had my best shot.” (Roast of Rob Lowe)

Martha Stewart

“Martha Stewart, shank you for being here . … I’m a huge fan and my mom is an even bigger fan. My mom has learned everything from Martha Stewart, including cooking, cleaning and withholding affection.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Joseph Gordon-Levitt

“He’s so cute, so adorable. I bet you eat p****, but only with the crust cut off first. Isn’t that his look? Speaking of crusty p****, I’ll get to you in a second, Cybill.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Cybill Shepherd

“Cybill’s gorgeous. I’m, like, honored to meet her. Her résumé is insane — model, actor, singer. You name it, she’s f***ed it.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Bruce Willis

“Your daughters must be so proud of their father … Ashton Kutcher.” (Roast of Bruce Willis)

Caitlyn Jenner

“You are such an incredible athlete. People forget just how fast you once ran … from your first family to go be on a reality show. Seriously, I know being a new mom is hard, but even Casey Anthony knows the current location of her daughter.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Blake Griffin

“Blake, you look like a Black guy that got made by a printer running out of ink. Yeah. Chris Redd is here because Comedy Central wasn’t sure if Blake was Black or not.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Alec Baldwin

“Alec Baldwin, what an honor to be here roasting Justin Bieber‘s wife’s oldest, fattest uncle. I’ll never forget that voicemail when you called your daughter Ireland [Baldwin] a thoughtless little pig. It’s got to be one of the worst things you can call your daughter — after Ireland, actually. That name, yikes.” (Roast of Alec Baldwin)

Kevin Hart

“No one works harder than this man. Do you know that every morning Kevin wakes up at 4 a.m. to make a s***ty movie? No, I love your movies. Or as I call them ‘short films.’ No, I’m kidding. I hate them. No, sorry, Kevin, I don’t mean to belittle you, but you ‘be little,’ man. Like, you’re a tiny guy. Kevin is 5-foot-2, 150 pounds. Um, 155 after The Rock finishes.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Nikki Glaser: It’s ‘Impossible’ Tom Brady Didn’t Consider Roast Backlash

Drew Bledsoe

“But let’s get to the reason we’re all here tonight. Uh, Drew Bledsoe. ‘Drew bled so Tom could run.’ But I’m gonna move on from you, just like your team did after you almost died.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Tom Brady

“Tom Brady, five-time Super Bowl MVP, most career wins, most career touchdowns, you have seven rings. … Well, eight now that Gisele [Bündchen] gave hers back, but … Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying yes to this roast was when you said, ‘Hey, babe, you should try jiujitsu.’” (Roast of Tom Brady)

“I mean, you’re the best to ever play for too long. I mean … you retired, then you came back, and then you retired again. I get it. Hard to walk away from something that’s not your pregnant girlfriend. Hey. To be fair, he didn’t know she was pregnant. He just thought she was getting fat.” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Rob Gronkowski

“Tom also lost $30 million in crypto. Tom, how did you fall for that? I mean, even Gronk was like, ‘Me know that not real money.’” (Roast of Tom Brady)

Ben Affleck

While Affleck wasn’t present at the 2025 Golden Globes, Glaser gave him a shout-out in her opening monologue.

“Tonight, we celebrate the best of film and hold space for television,” she said. “Yes, Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch: These are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”

Diddy

The disgraced music mogul was also referenced in her 2025 Golden Globes monologue.

Zendaya, you were incredible in Dune [2]. Oh, my God, I woke up for all of your scenes. You were so good,” Glaser told the actress. “And Challengers, girl? It was so good. I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy’s credit card.”

She added, “Oh, I’m upset too. The afterparty’s not going to be good this year. But, we have to move on. A Stanley Tucci freak off just doesn’t have the same ring to it. No baby oil this year, just lots of olive oil.”

Benny Blanco

During the 2025 Golden Globes that January, Glaser congratulated Blanco on proposing to Selena Gomez one month earlier.

“Benny Blanco is here because of the genie who granted him that wish,” she quipped. “Man, lucky guy!”

Gomez was seen pointing up at the stage in response.

After hosting SNL in November 2025, Glaser received backlash after telling a joke about sex trafficking in her monologue.

“I think I’m just paranoid and I think I’m just obsessed with slavery recently because every time you go … to a public women’s restroom and you sit in the stall, there’s always a poster on the back of the stall that’s asking you if you’re being trafficked,” she said. “They’re in every stall. They’re in every world language. The English is really tiny and it’s like, ‘You wish.’”

Glaser continued, “Men’s restrooms do not have these signs. I don’t know what signs you have? You have signs that are like, ‘Want a slave? Text Traffick to 69-69.’”

The comedian also shared that her younger friends were fearful about it.

“It’s really a big fear of being trafficked, mostly for Gen Z girls,” she said. “I have a lot of Gen Z friends that I bought … and they’re terrified. I don’t relate. I’m 41. That was not a fear of mine ever in my 20s. In my 20s, I just feared good old-fashioned rape. I didn’t think it would be a career. We didn’t think it was anything more than a ‘temp job’ on a frat house futon.”

Glaser relayed the feeling to relate to her younger friends who told her she was “good” since they felt “safer” when she was around because she looked like their “madam.” Glaser also made a reference to Ghislaine Maxwell, who was an associate of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Michael B. Jordan

Glaser gave a raunchy shout-out to the Sinners actor during the Golden Globes in January 2026 — with his mom in the audience.

“We can’t talk about movies without talking about Sinners,” she said. “I mean, Sinners single-handedly saved Warner Bros. for about a month, but still. Michael B. Jordan is nominated for Best Actor, so good, and in Sinners, [he] played two brothers.”

She added, “When I saw that, I was like, ‘Nikki-be-jerkin’ because that was awesome. I’m sorry, Michael. Why did I make that joke? [You’re here with] your mom. I should not have said that to you. That should have been [in] a DM. My mistake. I love you, you’re amazing.”

‘Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelorette’ Babies: Hannah Ann Sluss, More Who’ve Given Birth

Bachelor Nation couples have produced their fair share of adorable babies over the years, including Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici.

Lowe met and fell in love with Giudici while starring on season 17 of The Bachelor. Nearly two years after the duo tied the knot in January 2014 in California, they announced that their first child was on the way. Their son Samuel arrived in November 2017, followed by son Isaiah and daughter Mia in May 2018 and December 2019, respectively.

While Hannah Ann Sluss didn’t find her forever person after winning Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor, she has since found love with NFL player Jake Funk. The couple welcomed their first baby in November 2025.

Keep scrolling to see which other Bachelor Nation couples have become parents over the years:

Every Bachelor Nation Couple That Has Tied the Knot

Between The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor Winter Games, multiple couples have found true love — and a select few have made it down the aisle.

On The Bachelor, a winning couple didn’t get married until season 17. Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici married in a TV wedding in 2014. However, the season 13 Bachelor, Jason Mesnick, did tie the knot — to his runner-up.

Although he chose Melissa Rycroft, Mesnick ended their relationship during the After the Final Rose special and in turn, proposed to Molly Malaney. The two tied the knot in 2010.

The Bachelorette has been a bit more successful. The first-ever lead, Trista Sutter (née Rehn), found her prince charming. She married Ryan Sutter in 2003. Since then, several other Bachelorette winning couples went on to say “I do,” including Desiree Hartsock, Rachel Lindsay and JoJo Fletcher.

Ariana Grande Makes Rare Comment About Mac Miller 7 Years After His Death

Ariana Grande is reflecting on her relationship with ex Mac Miller seven years after his death.

While talking about the late rapper during her master class at Chapman University earlier this month, Grande, 32, explained that Miller encouraged her to “do the brave thing” and create R&B influenced pop music — something she is “very thankful” for.

“That’s also a part of why I was so eager to ask [Miller] to be a part of it,” Grande said in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter for the “Awards Chatter” podcast, referring to her 2013 track “The Way.”

She continued, “Not only because he was perfect for the song, but I also felt like I had him to thank for finding my sound.”

Aside from “The Way,” Grande and Miller also collaborated on his 2016 single “My Favorite Part” and a remix of her song “Into You,” which was also released in 2016.

Grande and Miller took their romance public in 2016, going Instagram official that September. The pair dated for nearly two years before splitting in May 2018. Months later, news broke that Miller died of an accidental overdose. He was 26.

Grande went on to pay tribute to Miller via Instagram.

“I adored you from the day I met you when I was 19 and I always will,” she wrote. “I can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. I really can’t wrap my head around it. We talked about this. So many times. I’m so mad, I’m so sad, I don’t know what to do. You were my dearest friend. For so long. Above anything else. I’m so sorry I couldn’t fix or take your pain away. I really wanted to. The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. I hope you’re OK now. Rest.”

Mac Miller’s Struggle With Drugs and Alcohol in His Own Words

Nearly one year later, Grande reminisced on her relationship with Miller.

“By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, f***. He was the best person ever, and he didn’t deserve the demons he had,” she told Vogue in August 2019. “I was the glue for such a long time, and I found myself becoming… less and less sticky. The pieces just started to float away.”

Grande later shared that she believes Miller’s top priority was creating music.

“I think that nothing mattered more to him than music ever,” Grande said in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 in 2020. “And he was the kind of person who woke up and rolled into the studio, tumbled out of bed, into the studio next door. Nothing was more important. Talk about losing track of time and forgetting to eat, remind yourself to take care of yourself and be a person. He was a person who gave literally every single second of his thought and time and life to his music.”

She continued, “It’s just such a beautiful gift I think that he kind of touched the world with, and I think the thing he’d want most is for us to just appreciate it and not forget about it.”

Ryan Lochte Gets Baptized After Divorce and Rehab: ‘My Heart Is Full’

Ryan Lochte has been born again after a rocky year.

The Olympic swimmer, 41, revealed he was baptized on Sunday, November 2, following his divorce from Kayla Rae Reid and his return from a substance abuse rehab earlier this year.

“I love sharing my life with my fans/followers. In this season of growing, I have learned that the only thing that truly matters is what God thinks of me,” Lochte wrote via Instagram, sharing several videos of himself in a silver tube before being dunked under water during the religious ceremony.

Lochte told his followers, “I made the decision to rededicate my life to Jesus and today I was baptized! My heart is full of so much love and happiness and I’m just so thankful for everything God is doing and going to do in my life.”

He concluded: “Thank you for all those who have loved and supported me throughout my life, you mean so much to me! @canvas_fl.”

In addition to sharing videos from the actual baptism, Lochte posed for photos with two of his three children, Caiden, 8, and Liv, 6, as well as his girlfriend, Molly Gillihan, and what appeared to be two of her kids.

Lochte’s eldest kids, whom he shares with estranged wife Reid, were all smiles as they attended their dad’s big moment at Canvas Church in Florida. (Lochte and Reid, 34, also share daughter Georgia, 2.)

“Congrats!” former Bachelor Sean Lowe replied in the comments, while Lochte’s fans applauded him for being so open and honest about his faith journey.

Lochte’s baptism, which is a Christian tradition to wash away sin, comes two months after he announced he was sober following a stint in a substance abuse program.

“I wanted to share some positive updates in my life and what’s going on,” Lochte shared via Instagram on August 29. “I’m so happy right now, and the big reason is that I’m 54 days sober. Yes!”

Ryan Lochte Opens Up About ‘Cycle of Depression That Led to Substance Abuse’

The retired professional swimmer explained that after being involved in a 2023 car accident he was in a “really dark place” that resulted in feelings of “depression, loneliness and [had him] feeling like [he] was giving up in life.”

Lochte noted that following the crash, his mental state led him “down a road of substance abuse.” Once he realized he “needed to make a change,” the athlete checked into a Florida recovery center.

“I’m motivated and I’m moving forward,” he explained. “I wanted to share this with you guys, especially my fans, because you guys are so important to me. In life, you’re going to get knocked down or hit a roadblock. … It’s not how you get knocked out. It’s how you get back up.”

Lochte’s recovery journey also came amid his and Reid’s ongoing divorce. After seven years of marriage, Reid filed for divorce from Lochte in June.

“Earlier this year, I made the hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection,” Reid wrote via Instagram at the time. “I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons of my life. I’ve been hesitant to share until I could do so from a place of healing — not from fresh, open wounds.”

Lochte released his own statement in June, writing via social media, “Although this decision hasn’t been easy, I believe it’s the right step toward peace and well-being for us both. I remain committed to healing, growth and coparenting with care and respect as we move forward separately. Thank you to our family and friends for your continued support. It truly means a lot as we begin this new chapter.”

Lochte and Reid’s divorce has since gotten messy, with Reid claiming in an August court filing that she found empty baggies of cocaine in their home allegedly left by Lochte. Reid also alleged that she found Lochte inhaling nitrous oxide in front of one of their kids. As a result of the allegations, Reid asked the court to award her sole physical custody of their children.

Ryan Lochte Addresses Ex Kayla’s Claims He Used Drugs in Front of Their Kid

Lochte denied the accusations in a statement to Us, noting that while he did succumb to substance abuse after his 2023 car accident, he never got high with his kids in the room.

“I am not denying that I used drugs in my home, but I adamantly deny ever using drugs in front of or around my children, and I have never driven them while intoxicated,” he said in August.

Lochte added, “We all make mistakes in life. We are not defined by those mistakes, but by how we learn from them and the work we put in to overcome them. I am extremely sorry for hurting or disappointing anyone along the way. My focus now is on my recovery, on being the best father I can be, and on moving forward in a way that keeps my kids safe, supported, and loved.”

The Day The Dinosaurs Died

In 2007, paleontologist Ken Lacovara suspected he’d made a huge discovery in an unexpected spot. Tucked behind a Lowe’s hardware store in a strip mall in New Jersey he found one of the most intact fossil beds from 66 million years ago. Recently a new museum opened at the dig site, where visitors can learn more about the day an asteroid struck the earth, killing the dinosaurs, and even go hunting for their own fossils. Historic victory: South Africa defeat Morocco 1-0 to win U20 AFCON

South Africa clinched the U20 Africa Cup of Nations title with a 1-o victory over Morocco in a thrilling final at Cairo International Stadium.

Gomolemo Kekana scored the only goal in the 70th minute. Initially, the goal was ruled out for offside, but later, after VAR review, it was allowed, handing the South African the continental trophy.

The goal came in when the South African goalkeeper, Smythe-Lowe, made a superb long pass to Kekana, who then converted it into the top corner.

The victory is seen as revenge for the South African senior team that lost the final in 1997 against Morocco. The win means South Africa are now the champions, replacing Senegal, the defending champions. Senegal were eliminated by Nigeria 3-1 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation and extra time.

Among those present were Patrice Motsepe, CAF president, and his vice-president, Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Despite having 15 shots, six of which were shots on target, Morocco failed to score, with the South African goalkeeper outshining their abilities.

Meanwhile, Nigeria claimed the third-place team after defeating the hosts, Egypt, in a penalty shootout.

The Pharaohs took the lead early with Omar Osama’s goal in the 3rd minute, but Nigeria equalized quickly with Bidemi Amole’s strike in the 47th minute. This victory secured Nigeria a podium finish in the tournament.

With South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, and Egypt all advancing to the semifinals, all four teams have secured their places for the U20 World Cup, which will be held in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025. African football continues to thrive, with these young talents now set to showcase their skills on the global stage.
