NPM officially opens voting for 2026 Mid-Year Awards

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The National Product Magazine (NPM) has officially opened public voting for its highly anticipated Mid-Year Awards, following the successful completion of a rigorous and transparent nomination process.

Voting commenced on April 1, and will run for a period of three weeks, offering the public an opportunity to actively support and recognize outstanding individuals, brands, and organizations that have demonstrated excellence across key sectors of the economy.

In a press statement issued today, NPM says this year’s awards celebrate achievement in a diverse range of categories, including Business and Agricultural Products, Innovation, Agribusiness, Services, Entrepreneurship, CEO Leadership, and Fashion.

“The initiative continues to spotlight both established and emerging players who are driving growth, creativity, and impact within their industries.

“With a strategic focus on national development, NPM has placed strong emphasis on the agriculture sector this year,” reads the statement in part signed by NPM Managing director and founder Arthur Steven Chinyamula.

Chinyamula adds, “As Malawi continues to push for increased exports and stronger foreign exchange reserves in its banking system, agriculture stands at the center of this vision.

“Notably, over 60 percent of this year’s nominees are from the agriculture sector—highlighting its influence and importance”.

He explains further, “Additionally, much of the manufacturing industry depends on agricultural raw materials, further cementing agriculture’s role in both industrial growth and export expansion”.

Chinyamula discloses further, “In recognition of the growing impact of digital media, NPM has also introduced nominations for online journalists who are working tirelessly to report on agriculture and business developments.

“This category aims to honor their contribution in promoting awareness, information sharing, and sector visibility”.

He stated, “Adding to the significance of this year’s event, NPM will celebrate a major milestone—its 125th edition—during the Mid-Year Awards.

“This achievement marks a remarkable journey in championing business excellence and supporting national progress”.

NPM statement adds, “The Mid-Year Awards are not just about recognition, but about inspiring progress and celebrating those who are shaping the future of business and agriculture”

Chinyamula appeals, “Members of the public are encouraged to take part in the voting process and support their preferred nominees as anticipation builds toward the awards ceremony”.

Malawi’s National Product Magazine Nominated for 2025 Africa and Pacesetters International Awards

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi’s leading business tabloid, National Product Magazine (NPM), has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 Africa and Pacesetters International Awards, scheduled to take place on July 25 at the Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

This continental recognition comes just days after NPM successfully hosted its Mid-Year Awards and marked the launch of its 115th edition on June 21 in Lilongwe.

According to an official invitation dated June 30, 2025, the nomination is in recognition of the magazine’s impactful contribution to economic development and business visibility across Malawi and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

“Dear National Product Magazine, on behalf of the Board of Jubilant Stewards of Africa and the Pacesetters International Awards organizing committee, we are pleased to inform you that you have been nominated for the Pacesetters International Awards 2025,” reads the invitation signed by Bruce Ambetsa, Programs Communications Associate.

Ambetsa noted that this year’s edition marks the 9th International Awards Gala Dinner since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and follows the recent successful Continental Chapter held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

In his reaction, NPM Managing Director Arthur Chinyamula expressed profound gratitude, describing the nomination as a milestone for the publication and the country.

“This recognition is for all of us as Malawians—our collective efforts to promote local products for export are being noticed. 20 SADC companies nominated for Malawi’s National Product Magazine Mid-Year Awards

LILONGWE–(MaraviPost)-The upcoming National Product Magazine (NPM) Mid-Year Awards and 115th Edition, scheduled for June 21, 2025, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe, has attracted participation from 20 companies across the SADC region.

Under the theme, “Connecting Industries, Fueling Exports: Enhancing Malawi’s Forex Reserves through Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Transport,” this Mid-Year awards aims to highlight and celebrate outstanding achievements in sectors critical to Malawi’s economic growth.

Over 80 companies have been nominated for various awards, with 70% from Malawi and the remaining 30% representing countries such as Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and others within the SADC region.

Speaking on Sunday, June 1, NPM Executive Director Arthur Chinyamula confirmed that public voting has been finalized, and preparations are underway for the highly anticipated ceremony.

“We’ve nominated companies in sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, transport, finance, and entrepreneurship,” Chinyamula said. “All nominations went through a rigorous screening process, focusing on factors such as specialization, size, performance, and export potential.”

Spotlight on Local and Regional Excellence

According to Chinyamula, the awards aim to not only promote top-performing businesses but also encourage regional collaboration that can help boost Malawi’s foreign exchange reserves.

“We believe forex generation depends on the strong performance of agriculture, manufacturing, and transport. This awards edition is a reflection of that vision,” he added.

In a special move toward inclusivity, the event will feature dedicated award categories for women entrepreneurs, recognizing their growing impact in various industries.

In addition to the formal awards, attendees will be treated to a “Best Dressed of the Night” competition, adding a stylish twist to the evening.

National Product Magazine calls for nominees voting in Mid-Year awards, 115 edition

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s leading business and entrepreneurship tabloid National Product Magazine (NPM) has announced voting for nominated companies for 2025’s Mid-Year awards and 115 editions.

The voting for nominees is effective today, April 2, to June 15, 2025.

This year’s awards are under the theme, “Connecting Industries, Fueling Exports: Enhancing Malawi’s Forex Reserves through Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Transport.”

The Magazine Executive Director Arthur Chinyamula told this publication in an interview on Wednesday that the awards are focusing companies on business, agriculture, transport, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs.

Chinyamula said, “We have nominated companies from business, agriculture, transport, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs. Our focus is to promote industries and Malawians who are doing various businesses from the above sectors”.

“For country to have forex there is need collaboration effort from various sectors and that’s why National Product Magazine 115th editions and celebrations has reflected roles of Agriculture and Transport in Manufacturing sectors”.

He added, “You can see our nominations have tackled companies under Transport , Agricultural, and entrepreneurs.

“The voting therefore will start to night and run for 15 days and celebrations of our 115th edition and awards will happen on 14th June, we have done nominations in time to allow winners to get ready to showcase their products and service , business presentation and proper preparations for companies coming from zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and individuals”.

According to Chinyamula, women have also been given their categories to compete themselves.

He assures, “We have gone under rigorous process to select companies, business, products , and entrepreneurs based on their specialisations, size , quality, performance, and export data.

“We have nominated 70% of Malawi companies and 30% from the Sadc Region. So, let’s embrace the voting that we get the best.”

The voting opens today, April 2, 2025, at 18:00 hours (6pm).

Lulu to headline 2024 National Product Magazine awards, 110 edition launch Friday night

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-All is set for the much awaited this year’s National Product Magazine Awards coupled with the publication’s 110 edition launch which is slated for Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe on Friday night (tommorow), December 6, 2024.

The country’s sensention artist Lulu and others will headline the red-carpet event.

National Product Magazine managing director Arthur Chinyamula told The Maravi Post in an interview on Thursday, December 5 that all is set for the event tommorow.

“Winners have already been notified and the programme is fully shaped as planned to have unforgettable night, tomorrow,” he said.


On the awards, Chinyamula said, “Business reporters, women entrepreneurs, finance sector and lending institutions as well as Sadc Region manufacturers from Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique will receive recognitions for their excellent contributions and products”.

Chinyamula further said Lilongwe-based Lulu will take the stage, bringing his signature energy to the event.

Spicing up the event, he said a surprise artist is set to perform, keeping the momentum building throughout the night.

“This is a red carpet event. High-profile guests are expected to attend and the dress code is likely to be “dress to impress.

“National Product Magazine is hosting a competition for the best-dressed attendee, so fashionistas, get ready to strut your stuff,” assures Chinyamula.

The managing director also assured business captains that the fun will not stop when the awards ceremony ends.

“An after-party will keep the celebrations going until the wee hours of the morning. It’s going to be an epic night and patrons will leave the venue satisfied,” excited Chinyamula.

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-There is much excitement amongst business captains ahead of this year’s National Product Magazine Awards coupled with the publication’s 110 edition launch.

In just 16 days, the red-carpet event is slated for December 6, 2024 at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.

National Product Magazine managing director Arthur Chinyamula told The Maravi Post in an interview on Thursday, November 21 that preparations are in full swing and the excitement is palpable.

“Winners have already been notified and the programme is shaping up to be an unforgettable night,” he said.

Paramount Holding Limited named as Malawi’s most reliable construction company

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The country’s leading National Product Magazine (NPM) has awarded Paramount Holding Limited (PHL) as the most reliable construction company in Malawi due to its work efficiency.

The company was awarded on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in the capital Lilongwe during the launch of NPM’s 105 edition.

Paramount Holding is one of the contractors the Malawi government through the Ministry of Education awarded for the construction of the prestigious Inkosi ya Makosi M’mbelwa University (IMMU) formerly known as Mombera University which was abandoned for years after former President Peter Mutharika presided over the project’s ground-breaking ceremony in 2015.

PHL recognition comes barely two weeks after Business In-Deals Magazine (BIM) on Friday, May 3 this year named Paramount Holding as the best Malawi’s Yamaha products Importer and seller.

Receiving the award, PHL Executive Director Prakash Virjl Ghedia minced words by attributing the recognition to hard-working staff members at the institution.

Ghedia says, “The continuous and numerous recognitions just show how efficient our company is in quality service delivery to both public and private sector.

“I dedicate the award to my working team which does not sleep to get work done in time. We therefore are assuring the general public of total commitment towards quality service delivery”.

In her remarks, Minister of Labour Agnes Nyalonje alongside Trade Minister Sosten Gwengwe who graced the event lauded the PHL for the great role is playing in the construction industry by offering jobs to many Malawians.

“The ministry is impressed with PHL workforce offered to Malawians by creating and providing jobs to our citizens. This fosters economic stability,” lauds Nyalonje.

Echoed the same, Trade Minister Gwengwe assured local and international companies for conducive environment towards business boom for maximum revenue collection.

Gwengwe however emphasized the need for company to invest more in value-added production for export that generates much needed forex.

In his remark, NPM Director Arthur Chinyamula said the event allows companies and individuals to showcase products through the continental media platforms.

Chinyamula disclosed that the magazine has gone SADC level whereby regional companies are embracing the publication.

“The Product Magazine is now a regional publication that companies from Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Kenya are showcasing their products in the paper. This just shows how reliable we are becoming,” lauds Chinyamula.

In the 105th edition of Product Magazine features President Lazarus Chakwera, Malawi’s successful entrepreneur and businessman Thomson Mpinganjira, Mozambique President Nyusi, and other notable business gurus in the region.
