BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-Tanzania has lifted its recent trade restrictions on goods from Malawi.

According to a statement released yesterday by Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture, the decision followed Malawi’s expression of interest in discussing the restrictions.

Tanzania had previously banned the importation of seeds and other agricultural products from Malawi, the transit of Malawian agricultural goods through its territory, and the sale of maize and agricultural inputs to Malawi.

This followed an earlier ban imposed by Malawi’s Ministry of Trade and Industry on certain imported goods, including bananas, tomatoes, and vegetables.
