BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-The Film Association of Malawi (FAMA) on Saturday inaugurated its new offices in Lilongwe.
The guest of honor at the inauguration ceremony was Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, who donated K40 million towards the establishment of the offices.
Speaking at the event, FAMA President, Dorothy Kingston, said the new offices will support the association’s work in developing the film industry in the country.
In his remarks, Bushiri commended FAMA’s new leadership for its collaborative approach and transparency in developing film talent.
He said through his Shepherd Bushiri Foundation will continue to support the film industry in the country.
Bushiri added that a portion of his Goshen City development will be dedicated to various film-related activities.
FAMA was established in the late 2011 with an ultimate goal of bringing together and coordinate persons and groups involved in the production and promotion of films in Malawi.
The association has three structures namely: the General Assembly comprising the membership of the organization, the Executive comprises 10 positions derived from the core team responsible for the management of the organization and the board of trustees comprising five members.
