BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A Malawian company called Bakhresa Malawi, has begun producing cooking oil using its own machinery in Blantyre.
In an interview with Maravi Post, the company’s executive,Richard Tchereko, said the machinery is currently producing high-quality oil, and the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS )has approved its release to the market.
Tchereko said the next step is to source more soybeans from Malawian farmers to increase production, which he believes will create a reliable market for local soybean farmers.
He further noted that this production aligns with Malawi’s 2063 Vision and the country’s economic development strategy, ATMM, established last year by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
