Madagascar’s organic concoction for Covid-19 cure

DODOMA-(MaraviPost)-Tanzanian President John Magufuli has announced that is sending a plane to Madagascar to bring herbal tea to Tanzania that is believed to be a cure for Covid-19.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-appointed Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba on Sunday, 03 May 2020, the president revealed that he has been in talks with the Madagascan government and he has requested the herbal cure that the country discovered to be transported to Tanzania to help in the fight against the pandemic.

The herbal drug named Covid Organics (CVO) that is in form of herbal tea was launched by Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina in April 2020 and it was pronounced free of charge to most vulnerable.

Report by Africanews revealed that trials and tests were conducted and its effectiveness was provided in reducing and elimination of symptoms from COVID-19 patients.

However, WHO has in a statement warned against any self-medication as a prevention or cure for Covid-19.

Madagascar has 149 cases of Coronavirus with no reported death as of 3 May 2020.
