The article on Malawi’s poor ranking from the world Bank has garnered a lot of response from our readers on Facebook. I thought we should share a few of those comments with you
Emeka Chidaddy Yes that’s their report, it may be true. What is required now in Malawi is not only civil service reforms or road traffic in every 10 meters on the road or MRA using police to scare people away. As of now Malawi has a nice and good CEO as vice president, he has to look into growth reforms
1. Increasing adoption of Morden technology to innovate, raise finance and find new agro marketable crops, look for customers and empower the new welcome farmers
2. Increasing use of shared knowledge, technology and services and outsourcing specialist to help and functions, enabling farmers into modern agro market. Most keep cost down, stay nimble and responding rapidly to new opportunities.
Malawi as a nation must know this: Growth needs to be measured not just by job creation but also by the economic activity Malawi are generating through the flexible use of people, technology and services.
For Malawi to move in growth there must be transacting activity in goods and services, is either there are goods to export or there are services to exports.
Common oranges are imported, what is our young people doing in cities?
Time to wake up and press ahead with agro farming technologies, there are many cash crops let’s start now and change must come.

Willy Zindondo No Minerals = Gold, Copper, only farming, What do you expect- POVERTY,….
Martin Mambala We r poor as our economy is not growing and is donor dependent ,no growth in the industrial sector .unless we ve more output we ll not come out of the ebb
Laws Nalikata Yea,much as we agree to that we Malawians should ask ourselves how much we’ve done improve our well being.Going around our villages one would see energetic men & women playing bawo the whole day instead of working towards economic prosperity. How if they spend that time say for instance making manure to grow staple /commercial crop, won’t they not achieve something tangible at last?In conclusion its laziness coupled with greed that makes people swindle readily available resources .I’ve evidence of people working around the clock & are doing fine.
