BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-Central West Region Police Commissioner Barbra Mchenga Tsiga has called for more awareness campaigns to tackle mob justice, suicide, and other crimes in the country.

Tsiga made the call during a management meeting at the Central Region Training Centre, attended by officers from various stations and posts on Wednesday.

She highlighted community engagement and strengthening community policing structures as crucial in reversing crime trends.

However, Tsiga expressed concern over rising murder cases, with 88 incidents recorded between January and April, up from 66 during the same period last year.

She stressed building effective community partnerships to restore public confidence.

On his part,Lilongwe Police Station Officer-in-Charge Clement Gulo noted mobility challenges in responding promptly to mob justice incidents in remote areas.
