LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-After noticing failure and incapacity by the Malawi Police Service, the United Nations (UN) Peace Keeping Mission has deployed Peace Keeping Solders and Tanks to Malawi.

The UN peacekeeping Vehicles and trucks were spotted along Mzuzu-Lilongwe road on Sunday, December 29 at around 4:00pm.

However, both Malawi Government and UN office have remained quite on the matter.

This comes as Malawi Police Service has been involved in human rights abuse in the past year.

They have been attacking peaceful and unarmed demonstrators who have been marching for their rights.

The Police has been involved in rape and torture of women and girls.

One example is Nsundwe Township, in the Capital City of Malawi, Lilongwe.

The United Nations have done this in response to calls by several organisations including the Human Rights Commission who has issued a report regarding the rape and torture on innocent Women and girls in Nsundwe.

In Malawi there is a court case going on regarding presidential elections which are being disputed.

The outcome of the Court Case ruling which will likely take place in less that 33 days from now may create instability in the country.

The UN decided to deploy the peace keepers to beef up security as the Police Service in Malawi is Politically compromised as it leans towards the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and Peter Muthariaka.

The UN peace keepers will work hand in hand with the Malawi Defence Forces (MDF) in ensuring peace and order and preventing attacks by police on innocent Malawians who are fighting for Electoral and Human Rights Justice.
