LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-In a stirring sermon, Vice President Jane Ansah emphasized the need for moral revival and unity in Malawi, speaking at the 16th anniversary celebrations of the Pentecostal International Church of Christ (PICC) in Area 49, Lilongwe.

Ansah congratulated Pastor Esau Banda on the church’s milestone, hailing his faithfulness and commitment over the years.

She also commended Pastor Banda for authoring 125 books, describing it as a remarkable achievement.

Taking her cue from Jeremiah 2:8, Ansah urged the congregation to “rise up and build”, stressing that a strong nation is founded on the faith of its people.

She emphasized that true faith is demonstrated through integrity, honesty, and a commitment to doing good.

The Vice President lamented the lack of morals in Malawi, citing the paradox of widespread Christianity alongside rampant corruption.

She stressed that building a nation requires unity, shared vision, and a rejection of destructive behaviors like jealousy and gossip.

Ansah quoted President Arthur Peter Mutharika’s description of her as a woman of integrity, with a strong fear of God, and highlighted her role as Vice President as an opportunity to contribute to the solution, rather than being part of the problem.

She criticized churches and pastors who accept money from politicians without questioning its source, saying this compromises the church’s values.

Ansah pointed to the American dollar’s motto, “In God we trust”, as an example of a nation founded on prayer and faith.

Concluding her speech, Ansah sang a hymn and received congratulations as a powerful evangelist.

She expressed gratitude for a gift and highlighted her foundation’s work with vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of empowering people rather than simply giving them handouts.

Pastor Esau Banda led the congregation in Psalm 23:6, declaring the service closed, with the congregation thanking Ansah for her inspiring sermon and Pastor Banda for his leadership.
