Muluzi family will construct cancer ward in memory of former Malawi First Lady Annie Muluzi

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Former Health Minister, Atupele Muluzi, son to former Malawi president Bakili on Thursday, January 13, 2022 disclosed the Muluzi family will construct a cancer ward at one the country’s major referrals.

Writing on his Facebook page Muluzi says the ward will be named the “Anne Muluzi Cancer Ward” dedicated to provide a serene environment and ambience of graceful comfort and care to cancer patients in honour of the first lady.

“We understand that there are so many people in Malawi suffering from cancer and we intend to contribute to establishing an in-patient facility specifically designed to make cancer patients stay and care as comfortable as possible for the patient and loved ones” wrote Muluzi.

His mother, Anne Muluzi died of cancer at a hospital in Kenya where she was receiving treatment.
