BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A woman identified as Chrissy Likaka died on Thursday night, January 13, 2022 after being hacked by a man only identified as Mfiti.
Phalombe police station Officer In-Charge, Macdonald Chambakata, has told The Maravi Post on Friday, January 14 that the suspect broke into the house and hacked her to death.
The police publicist said reasons for the suspect action remain unclear.
Chambakata says that the man also injured a child who was sleeping in the house.
He says that the incident happened at Horo village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Nyezelera in the district.
Chambakata added that the police have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect.
Meanwhile; burial ceremony for the woman has been conducted today at Horo village.
