Ntcheu’ Kasinje Health Centre nurse Moses Chimalizeni commits suicide over arrest fears of defilement

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-A 49-year-old nurse and midwife technician at Kasinje Health Center in Ntcheu district has died after consuming poison.

Malawi Police Service suspects suicide.

Ntcheu Police Spokesperson Jacob Khembo identified the deceased as Moses Chimalizeni, who was earlier summoned by police on allegations that he had defiled a 15-year-old pregnant girl at the health facility.

The deceased was however found unconscious by the roadside.

Chimalizeni died in hospital.

Postmortem at Ntcheu District Hospital therefore revealed that death was due to poisoning.

The later Chimalizeni hailed from Mambala village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Kwataine in the district.
