MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-Mzuzu City Parliamentary Aspirant Killy Msukwa has come up with church choir competition slated for June 7, 2025 at Mchengautuwa CCAP hall in Mzuzu.
The competition comes barely weeks after Holy Trinity CCAP Congragation nodded to the youthful church member Msukwa’s political move as he is eyeing for a Parliamentary seat in Mzuzu.
In an interview after presenting a MK1 million cheque towards the choir festival bonanza on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, lawmaker aspirant said “the competition aims at appreciating choirs abilities that they also learn from each others talent since the choirs will come from different churches”.
“This is will also encourage different choirs to interact and share singing tactics in deepening spirit welfare in the city”.
According to one of top city wntertainment directors Augustine Chilunga who has been tasked to manage the competition says the bonanza will run from 8am to 5pm on one day on the same date.
Chilunga disclosed that before the judges come with their verdicts “There will be guest artist who will be performing including Favoured Martha while supporting Gospel artists are Martha Nundwe and Dyghton Mbewe”.
He therefore disclosed that registration is now opened for any choir to join freely for the competition.
Lawmaker aspirant Msukwa has been instrumental in organising volleyball tournaments including the Mzuzu International Volleyball, Raiply and FISD in the recent months.
Malawians are expected to go for general elections on September 16, this year.
