LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Silver Strikers FC delivered a thunderous statement of intent in the 2026 FDH Premiership this afternoon, dismantling previously unbeaten Masters FC 3–0 at a buzzing Silver Stadium in Lilongwe to climb to the summit of the table.
The Bankers wasted no time asserting dominance, with Andrew Joseph breaking the deadlock in 22 minutes.
Masters FC, who arrived with an unbeaten tag and growing confidence, were forced into defensive survival mode as Silver Strikers controlled possession, tempo and territorial advantage from the first whistle.
The pressure eventually told when Festus Duwe calmly converted from the penalty spot to double the lead on 40 minutes,sending the visiting side further into discomfort and the home fans into wild celebration.
Any hopes of a Masters FC comeback were effectively crushed late in the game when Macdonald Lameck sealed the victory with a well taken third goal,in 90 plus wrapping up a complete performance from the hosts.
The result carries major implications at the top of the table, with Silver Strikers rising to first place on nine points from four matches, registered a single loss while Masters FC slip to third despite sharing the same points tally.
After the match, Silver Strikers assistant coach Mapopa Msukwa hailed his players’ resilience and discipline, praising their ability to maintain intensity across both halves and execute the game plan under pressure.
On the other side, Masters FC head coach Peter Mponda conceded defeat with honesty, admitting his side failed to punish their limited chances and acknowledging Silver’s sharpness in key moments.
