Malawi’s Chitipa thugs kill watchman

The hole criminals dug to access merchandise inside the shop

CHITIPA-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi police in Chitipa are hunting for criminals following the brutal killing of a watchman at his work place at Maka Trading Centre in the district.

According to Chitupa Police Station Publicist, Gladwell Simwaka, on the night of of March 13, 2020, the watchman, Patson Msukwa, was on duty when the criminals came around and broke into the shop by digging a hole at the back of the shop.

They killed him and also went away with MK1.1 million cash and various items worthy millions of kwacha.

Postmortem conducted at Chitipa District Hospital indicated that death was due to strangulation.

Msukwa, 51, hailed from Namuyemba village in Traditional Authority Mwaulambia in Chitipa district.

Meanwhile, Police in the district have launched a man hunt to catch the criminals and they also appeal to everyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the same, to contact the nearest police.
