Paraguayan woman wakes up in funeral home after wrongly pronounced dead

A-50-year-old woman woke up in a body bag at Paraguay funeral home after doctors mistakenly declared her dead.

According to a Paraguay National Police report, the woman who was identified as Gladys Rodríguez Duarte was admitted to the hospital at 9:30am local time and was checked by Dr. Heriberto Vera.

Reports have revealed that she arrived at San Fernando Clinic on Saturday due to increase high blood pressure and was declared dead two hours later.

The doctor who was attending to her informed her husband Maximino Duarte Ferreira and her daughter Sandra Duarte of her demise citing the cause of death as cervical cancer.

Report by Daily Mail also revealed that the physician confirmed her cause of death as cervical cancer.

However, Gladys was discovered breathing and moving inside a body bag after some time by the workers of a local funeral home where she was about to be prepared for a funeral service.

Her daughter has slammed the doctor for the wrong judgement without attempting to bring her back to life.

Meanwhile, Investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
