BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The coordinators of this year’s Ziyara parade, Al-tariqatul Quadiriyya Sunni Association (AOSA) says all is set for the event scheduled to take place for this coming Sunday.
Addressing the press ahead of the parade in Blantyre, the media coordinator for the parade Mohammad Aboo said this year’s event is expected to draw over one million participants.
Aboo said this year the parade has been organized on Sunday 10th November being 12th of Rabiul Awwal 1441 AH which is Blantyre will be commemorated from Kanjedza mosque through Limbe town and enat Mpingwe sports club where the gathering will meet to have Zohr prayers.
“This year’s event will be so special as every district will commemorate its own activity but the main event in Blantyre is expected to target approximately 70,000 to 80,000 people,” said Aboo
Aboo said the parade, which is conducted annually, is aimed at carrying out the eminent responsibility of honoring the birth of the great and magnificent prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the mercy on to all mankind 1494 years ago.
The media coordinator also called for peace and love among people of different religions in the country as what the theme of this year’s parade is.
“We believe that ProphetMuhammad championed the right manner of living as he also proclaimed peace as one core values of Islam. We are very peaceful people and this is the message that we are spreading. We want to live in peace and work together with all religions,” said Aboo.
Aboo also advised the participants not to bring the under-seven year’s old children to the event as the department of the meteorological services has advised them of very hot weather during the day.
Among others, Aboo said the event is expected to be graced by various invited guests such as the president of the country Arthur Peter Mutharika.
According to Aboo, the al-tariqatul qudiriyya Sunni Association (AQSA) has been coordinating the Ziyara parade in Blantyre for the past years, under the auspicicies of Limbe Muslim Jammat.
