BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Flames striker Babatunde Adepoju has expressed renewed determination to make his return to South Africa a success, while openly stating that FCB Nyasa Big Bullets remain his preferred home should circumstances force him back to Malawi.
The forward is set to rejoin Venda Football Academy after the conclusion of his loan spell with Bullets, a period that proved to be one of the most successful phases of his career.
Babatunde admitted that his initial stint at Venda did not meet his expectations but believes the lessons learned will help him perform better this time around.
He said the upcoming return represents a second chance to demonstrate his true potential and establish himself within the South African football setup.
Despite his focus on succeeding abroad, Babatunde did not hide his affection for Bullets, describing the club as instrumental in shaping him into a more complete striker.
The Flames forward stressed that if things become difficult again in South Africa, Bullets would be the only Malawian side he would consider rejoining.
He praised the People’s Team for providing him with an environment that allowed him to grow in confidence, sharpen his finishing and play consistent competitive football.
Babatunde’s loan spell was marked by outstanding performances in the TNM Super League, where he quickly became one of the league’s most feared attackers.
His fine form saw him finish the season as joint top scorer after netting 15 goals, sharing the accolade with teammate Chikumbutso Salima.
