A story is told in political circles that a Minister in the Bakili Muluzi Government was on an official trip to Europe. While there he got a directive to pass through Libya and collect a briefcase the contents of which can only be concluded to have been millions in hard Cash American Dollars.
When the Minister collected the Briefcase, It is said President Bakili Muluzi was calling almost every hour to check on progress and the where a bouts of that briefcase.
Upon arrival in Lilongwe late at night the poor Minister was so tired that he switched off his cell phone to avoid being asked to travel to state house at such late hour.
The country’s Former President Bakili Muluzi was known to do the bidding of Libya’s Gadhafi. At that time Comrade Gadhafi had two objectives. The first was to suspend term limits at the AU, The second was to unite the whole African continent under his leadership.
Bakili was leading the charge for Gadhafi’s ambitions. Unfortunately after his bid for third term faltered in the Malawi Parliament, Bingu WA Mutharika who was himself a very ambitious man wrestled the Leadership of the AU from Libya Gaddafi. Gadhafi and Bingu never got along because in Bingu Gadhafi met someone just as ambitious.
The question is what did Bakili do with all the cash he got from Muslim states? Was that money for his personal usage?
