BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Youths in Blantyre on Monday afternoon donated medical equipment in paediatric emergency unit at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.
Using social media, Pemphero Mphade who led the group in purchasing the equipments has managed to raise about MK515,000 after a friend discussed with him on the immediate need for oxygen cylinder gauge that was broken when child was playing with it.
The money has been used to purchase pressure gauge, infant weighing scale and twelve digital thermometers.
Pemphero has expressed his gratitude to fellow Malawians who took part in contributing towards the donation.
“It is the responsibility of each individual to take part and so something whenever there is a need. Time has come for us to start thinking different and not always wait for others outside to make the donations,” he said.
Some of the people who contributed towards the donation included Gwamba, Jeph Maliro and several others.
In an interview with one medical personnel at QECH in Blantyre, he has expressed his gratitude to fellow Malawians who took part in contributing towards the donation.
