Whispers in the Northern region say Lazarus Chakwera used them to win the elections and since then has shown no willingness to work with alliance members and many are already frustrated.
Reports reaching our publication indicate, Regional Chair for UTM in the North Leonard Njikho has dumped the party following bad cultural practices in the party of hating North people.
We have confirmed that Njikho has left the party together with his deputy a Mr Banda.
However, we hear many people are angry in the North by the way the Tonse Alliance has treated them after winning the polls.
Many gurus from the North who helped Lazarus “Kadingus” Chakwera to win the polls in the court ordered polls like Harry Mkandawire, Khumbo Kachali, Ralph Mhone, Frank Mwenefumbo, Yeremiah Chihana, Enock Chihana, Prof Chisi, Kamuzu Chibambo and many more were left in the cold and have mounted secret meetings to strategize on the next move.
Lazarus “Kadingus” Chakwera has come under fire for family appeasement in his Cabinet at expense of such multi-talented gurus with huge experience in managing government affairs.
The Reverend Lazarus Chakwera has been nicked named “Family Man” for his cabinet selection by the print media while his vice president Saulos chilima has instructed his party gurus to start campaign meetings for 2024 polls where he is poised to stand on UTM ticket and not MCP.

When you use a step ladder and think you won’t need it again coming down, you just throw it way. That was coming as TONSE is an alliance of two central region aligned parties. I feel sorry but truth is we Tumbukas are naive and believe that every smile is directed at us. We always get it wrong.
Northerners do not learn. Atumbuka sumachedwa kutengeka. That is your biggest problem.
The problem is that most of these politicians, except Khumbo Kachale, allowed themselves to be side shows of the campaign. If we take Mtambo, for example, he was independent and conducted lots of rallies oh his own almost in all regions of the country.
Chisi is famous in some parts of Bangwe but he never went there to campaign
Yeremiah Chihana is an assert to the nation and we would like him to unravel our tax money which was stolen by Bingu.
I hope the rest will be given some parts to perform in the Tonse alliance government but they should learn to be independent like Mtambo.
