At 94 years old, legendary actor and vegan Clint Eastwood continues to captivate audiences not just with his films, but with his profound insights on life. Recently, Eastwood shared one of the most significant lessons he has learned over his long life, aimed at guiding the younger generation towards a more meaningful understanding of luxury.
Eastwood’s message is clear and heartfelt: “Don’t look for luxury in watches or bracelets, don’t look for luxury in villas or sailboats! Luxury is laughter and friends, luxury is rain on your face, luxury is hugs and kisses.”
In a world increasingly driven by materialism and consumerism, Eastwood’s words serve as a poignant reminder that true luxury lies not in tangible possessions or extravagant lifestyles, but in the intangible experiences and relationships that enrich our lives. He emphasizes that the essence of luxury is found in simple, yet profound moments: “Don’t look for luxury in shops, don’t look for it in gifts, don’t look for it in parties, don’t look for it in events! I want to share this with everyone because somehow, I think it’s important. My favorite movie of all time is Clint Eastwood’s “the Outlaw Josey Wales”.
At one time some years back, I could recite every line by every character in the movie and by the way, it is a long movie. My friends would randomly select a line from the movie and I would take it from that point to the end of the book.
What made it special to me? I was going through a nasty divorce and felt beaten down. The ‘never give up attitude’ of Josie Wales resonated with me and recharged me.
Also, I admired the fact that Clint Eastwood gave all of the best lines in the movie to his supporting actors. Lone Wadie, Jamie, Granny Hawkins, Sim Carson and all others got the best lines whereas Josie Wales let them have center stage. It made for a fantastic movie.
