LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Cool drop bottled water is safe for drinking assures, Zam Investment, the manufacture of beverages (soft drinks) and tissue papers.
Assurance comes following staged sabotage that misguided individuals wanted to drag the company into disrepute .
Muhammad Tutulah, Operations Director for Zam Investment and Tutulas group of Company told the media tour to his factory site over the weekend that the incident about a foreign particle in their product (bottled water) that has been circulating on social media was investigated and it has been proved to be bogus.
Tutulah ruled out the possibility of someone finding a foreign particle in their products.
“This is rare and this is the first complaint after operating for four years. We have members of MBS every two weeks checking our products here and we produce almost 600, 000 thousand bottles in a month.
“Throughout the process, there is no use of celltape at any point, the foreign particle that was found in the bottle turned out to he celltape and we’re very puzzled where exactly this came from,” worried Tutulah.
The Committee of Parliament on Industry Trade and Tourism who was part of the tour therefore advised local companies to ensure they observe all safety measures and hygiene practices in making their products.
Committee Chairperson, Simplex Banda,expressed his satisfaction in various processes that the company is taking in making the beverages to ensure hygiene is observed throughout the product process.
“We have checked everything around this facility from the source of water, purification process to final packaging on this company.
“I can openly say that I’m satisfied with the work they are doing and I can encourage other companies to emulate this in ensuring safety is observed throughout the process of manufacturing the beverages,” says Banda who is also Member of Parliament for Kasungu South.
When asked to comment on the video circulating on social media about cool drop bottled water Banda said it is essential for Malawians to promote each other and not sabotage one another in their various businesses.
