Covid-19: Ghanaian-born leaves UK hospital after 8 months in coma

Staff at a UK hospital were filled with joy at news of the discharge of one of their patients who contracted Covid-19.

Ghanaian-born Richard Frimpong was greeted with applause from onlookers and hospital staff as he left the facility.

He was being discharged after eight months in coma haven contracted the Covid-19 in 2020.

A Facebook User shared the video of Frimpong’s discharge and the excitement that greeted it.

He wrote “What a miracle??!! To God be the glory.”

Frimpong was receiving treatment for Covid-19 at a health facility managed by King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London.

According to the Facebook User, Frimpong had his high school education in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

He used to play hockey for Ghana’s national Hockey team as well before moving to the UK.
