GALILEE-(MaraviPost)-A deadly attack by Hezbollah has claimed the life of one person in northern Israel, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the Iran-backed militant group and Israel.

The attack, which occurred on Sunday, has heightened tensions in the region, with Israel vowing to take action against Hezbollah.

The victim was discovered in his vehicle in the Galilee Panhandle area, with paramedics and emergency doctors unable to save him.

The Israeli military confirmed that fire had been launched from Lebanon, causing damage and casualties.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that it was targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers with a rocket barrage in the northern community of Misgav Am.

This attack is the first such death from fire originating in Lebanon since the US-Israel war on Iran began.

The situation on the northern border has escalated considerably, with Hezbollah intensifying its attacks on Israel with rockets and drones, effectively opening a second front.

Israel is responding with ongoing airstrikes on targets in southern Lebanon and military preparations along the border.

The Israeli Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has instructed the military to speed up the demolition of Lebanese homes in the south, citing threats to Israel.

The Lebanese authorities report that at least 1,024 people have been killed and 2,740 injured in Israeli attacks since March 2.

The international community is calling for restraint, with the World Health Organization warning of the “perilous stage” of the conflict.

The situation remains volatile, with the risk of further escalation high.
