While the public is told to strictly follow COVID-19 preventive measures which among others include limiting outdoor gatherings to 250 and indoor to 100 people, the case is different within Tonse government circles.
The high hierarchy of the Tonse administration including President Chakwera and cabinet ministers on Friday, sneaked out of the capital Lilongwe and headed to Mchinji district.
They were busy hold celebrations for the wife to business tycoon Simbi Phiri who invited famous artists such as Koffi Olomide and South Africa female artist Makhazi.
The party attracted thousands of both local and international patrons.
In the video ministers Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda minister of health, Patricia Kaliati Minister of Gender dancing mask-less with artist Kofffi Olomide.
Chakwera was seen dancing on the stage with Simbi and musician Olamide without face-mask and social-distancing.
Meanwhile health experts have expressed worrisome over Chakwera’s conduct.
